Kids Creek Care
Healthy creeks support healthy communities. Together, we can protect our watersheds.
Our Kids Creek Care program tackles the issue of nature-deficit affecting underserved youth by introducing them to environmental issues and providing opportunities to experience nature firsthand. By combining youth environmental education with leadership skill development, our program aims to empower the next generation of change-makers. We focus on simple, actionable steps that cumulatively lead to significant impacts, addressing climate change and enhancing STEM skill sets to help build the leaders of tomorrow.
Through engaging lessons, students explore how water moves through our landscapes, how climate change and human activities impact water quality and availability, and the actions we can all take to help protect our watersheds.
These programs create opportunities for students to connect with their local environment and learn about the plants, wildlife, and communities that depend on clean water—including ourselves. By fostering curiosity and environmental responsibility, we empower students to recognize that their everyday actions can make a meaningful difference.
Conservation Works has delivered lessons covering topics such as water pollution prevention, water conservation, water quality sampling, rainwater harvesting, and appreciation for our natural spaces. The curriculum has been adapted for learners from kindergarten through eighth grade, ensuring that activities are age-appropriate, interactive, and engaging.
Through hands-on experiences and meaningful discussions, students leave with a deeper understanding of their role in protecting the health of their local watershed.
