Financials

Conservation Works’ support comes from individuals, foundations, agencies, and organizations that help us take action to help our environment and communities in Sonoma, Marin, Lake, and Sonoma Counties. Our work is also supported by thousands of hours of donated services from a variety of volunteers and pro bono professionals who help us extend our capacity to make a difference.

We began serving as fiscal sponsors for other organizations in 2015, most notably to support our partnering Resource Conservation Districts,  whose work aligns well with our mission.  From its initial launch in 2015 where we passed through funds amounting to just over $700,000 to Gold Ridge RCD, this fiscal sponsorship program has grown and in 2022 we passed through about $2,700,000. We keep our costs for overseeing the fiscal sponsorship agreements as low as possible but do recover all of our direct costs for grant administration as well as a small percentage  for indirect costs.  We believe this program will continue to grow, and are proud to be able to support the Resource Conservation Districts as they make important on-the-ground changes in water conservation and fisheries habitat restoration.
