KIDS CREEK CARE YOUTH ACTION GROUPS, MENDOCINO COUNTY
Our Kids Creek Care Youth Action Groups engage youth within the watershed in which they live to learn about their watershed and take action to protect it.
MENDOCINO YOUTH ACTION GROUP FOR THE PUDDING CREEK WATERSHED IN OTIS JOHNSON WILDERNESS PARK, FORT BRAGG
This project provides both restoration and prevention actions for invasive species control within the Otis R. Johnson Wilderness Park (Park) in Fort Bragg. Eradication of invasive species is a complex process, but an ongoing program of removal and replacement with native plants is needed to restore this small watershed closer to its natural habitat.
We formally adopted the Park through the City of Fort Bragg, who is partnering with us on a pilot Kids Creek Care project this winter with youth from the Fort Bragg Anchor Academy to remove a patch of acacias and replant with donated redwood seedlings. We will be including additional youth and their families to help establish an ongoing Kids Creek Care local community group to support work in the Park for years to come. Come join us in protecting this beautiful park. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more!
